Results and Maps
Following the creation of the network dataset, the three new service areas, and the least cost path analysis, the following maps were created. Notably Map 5 has the results of the Least Cost Path analyses.
(Below are the links to the pdfs, or you can enlarge each map by clicking on the images on this page.)

-
Driving zones 100 km, 150 km, 200 km around Downtown Vancouver
-
The Road trip destinations, and the 3 driving zones from Downtown Vancouver
-
Least Cost Paths - from Downtown Vancouver to 4 Trip Destinations - Road Network and Attractions

At the bottom of this page, a list of the attractions on the least cost path to the four destinations have been constructed.

The result from the Least Cost Path analyses are as follow:
-
Cultus Lake: 98km
-
Deep Cove: 15km
-
Harrison Hot Springs: 120 km
-
Whistler: 120 km
Consequently, the following estimated cost have been calculated:
-
Cultus Lake return trip falls within the 200 km trip limit
-
Deep Cover return trip falls within the 200 km trip limit
-
Harrison Hot Springs return trip: 40km over the limit → (40x0.45) = $18 extra of $90
-
Whistler return trip: 40km over the limit → extra fee of $18 in addition to $90

The fourth map is a representation of the complex road network which surrounds Vancouver to the different destination points. In addition, the points of attraction listed by HelloBC are represented. This map shows the many range of options that EVO drivers are faced with in picking a road to their final destination, assuming that they want to maximise their use of the car and do as many attractions as they possibly can within a day.
The third map represents the 4 different day trip destinations, Cultus Lake, Deep Cove, Harrison Hot Springs, and Whistler, in regards to the different driving zone areas. Deep Cove and Cultus Lake are both in the 100km zone and thus within the $90 rental fee. However, Whistler and Harrison Hot Springs are in the Red zone, and the trips can increase up to $45.
The second map represents the three different driving zones created from the network analyst. The blue area represents zones within 100 km, which means that return trips without that zones are expected to fall within the 200 km limit included within the $90 dollars. The red zones represents area within 150 km driving distance. Trip destination within that zones can lead up to an extra $45 fee (100km x $0.45). The orange area represents distances of 200km from downtown vancouver, and can lead to an extra $90 from the base $90 day rental.
The first map represents the lower mainland, its cities and the highways leaving from Vancouver. It gives a brief overview of where EVO drivers can drive to.
Map 6,7,8,9 represent the individual cost path analyses, for Whistler, Cultus Lake, Deep Cove, and Harrison Hot Springs, which have been portrayed in comparison to the Route created by the Network Analysis to the destinations, without taking into account attractions in its path calculation.

The fifth map is the result of the 4 Least Cost Path analyses.
Consequently, by intersecting the zone around roads with the attractions, 4 tables, which can be found below, have been constructed to represent the different activities within 500m from the cost paths, and which the EVO users can go to on their way to their final destinations.

Below in an example showing the list of attractions on the way to Harrison Hot Springs:
